Flow Strength Member App

A fully custom-coded member app where a member can work alongside their personal trainer to view workouts, track progress, and much more.

When the same client needed more than a website, we built the application: a 268-item content library, a builder that publishes to exactly the right people, a client roster, and a full-screen timer for the wall.

A website brings people in; software keeps them. This is the second half of that sentence — a real application with a login, a database and a considered interface, built for one business's way of working and running in production today.

The day's programming lived on a whiteboard and in group chats. Anyone who missed a day had no way to see what they missed, nothing was searchable, and there was no record of what had been prescribed to whom.

01

Designed for a hand that is already busy

Deep green on white, oversized touch targets, one job per screen. It gets used mid-session on a phone propped against a rack, so nothing is smaller than a thumb and nothing needs a second look. Software people use standing up has to be designed differently from software people use sitting down, and almost nobody does it.

02

A library that grew to 268 entries

Everything the business has ever run, searchable by title or by content and filtered by type and by focus. What used to be rewritten from scratch every week became something to draw from — the compounding asset that makes the tool more valuable the longer it is used.

03

Publish to exactly the right people

Write it once, then choose the audience with six checkboxes: everyone, a named program, online members, a subset, a benchmark, or one individual. The date already says today, so the morning's work is a minute — or pick a future date and plan the week.

04

The extra thing that makes it get used

A full-screen interval timer on the same login as everything else. No second app, no second subscription, no phone propped against a kettlebell. Small conveniences are what decide whether software becomes habit or becomes shelfware.

05

Staff side and customer side, one system

Staff manage people and content; members sign in and see what is on today. One database, one login, built on the same foundation as the dealership system above — a stack we run in production and know how to keep running.

Security matters more here than on a brochure site

This one holds member records behind a login, so it is treated accordingly: sessions that cannot be read in transit, strict transport security so a browser will not be talked down to an unencrypted connection, and browser features the app does not use — camera, microphone, location — switched off at the response so nothing on the page can ask for them. That is a full best-practices score, and it is deliberate rather than default.

The pattern generalises further than it looks. A practice publishing aftercare instructions to the right patients. A contractor giving each client a private page with their schedule and photographs. A retailer with a staff-only stock and pricing tool. It is the same shape every time — a login, a library, and the ability to send the right thing to the right people — and it is the work that turns a customer into a repeat customer.
